What's the buzz? Tell me what's a-happenin'!
For some reason I have Jesus Christ Superstar in my head this morning. Today's a good day, there's only a few people in the office and I have need list of journals to check for weeding. In the spirit of joviality I'm sharing some of my favourite channels or latest finds on YouTube.
MisoHungrie They do cookbook reviews, most notable novelty and fandom based cookbooks and his videos have been a lot fun to watch. I think they live in Canada because they did a Timbit video....but then again, there are Tim Horton's in the states right? So I could be wrong. Anyway, here's one the best ones I've seen so far:
Drew Gooden Seems to have been around for a while but new to me and I dunno, I just get a kick out of his videos. Particularly the ones regarding old video footage like this one:
Dead Meat Okay, definitely not a new because I've been watching this channel for a while now but still one of my favourites. The videos on this channel center around horror movies & media though the most well known series is their kill count videos. Sharing this one because I figure I wouldn't have to worry about spoilers for Dracula at this point:
Not much has happened this week. I've been feeling a bit emotional and very lethargic due to a combination of workplace stress, poor habits, and approaching period. I swear to god, at some point I'm going to remember the affect my period has on me right? Too often I find myself wondering 'Why do I feel so crappy?' then I look at my pills or tracker and have that 'Oh yeah, period's coming' moment. I'll probably start remember just as menopause kicks in 🤪
So because I've been feeling crappy throughout the week I went easy on myself in the evenings with the plan to catch up on chores the weekend instead. So I've been reading and playing more Monster Prom...which is really just another form of reading since it's a visual novel style game.
Currently reading:
+ Stuff Every Tea Lover Should Know by Candace Rose Rardon - Picked up this small coffee table type book on tea while browsing Whink, a local shop that sells home décor, jewelry, and basically knick-knacks. It was cute and I always love learning more about tea.
+ Set Boundaries, Find Peace: A Guide to Reclaiming Yourself by Nedra Glover Tawwab - Picked this up after talking about being more assertive and having boundaries with my therapist. I've been taking my time with it and finding it to be a good book for both learning more about boundaries for myself and for being more mindful about my impact and how I might be crossing other people's boundaries.
+ Love for Imperfect Things: How to Accept Yourself in a World Striving for Perfection by Haemin Sunim with Deborah Smith (Translator) - This was a random purchase from my local witchy shop, The Natural Emporium. I had been having a bad day last week and walked over to the shop on my lunch break, figuring it would help lift my spirits. This title caught my eye and browsing it made me feel better so I grabbed it on a whim. I've been reading a little bit every night, it's a mix of philosophy, common sense, and self help.
+ The Emma Project #4 in The Rajes series by Sonali Dev - I started reading the Rajas series in 2020 and basically it's a modern rom com series inspired by Jane Austen's work that focuses on various siblings & cousins from the Raje family.
