Until I was about 25 years old, I had never carved pumpkin. The Irish tradition is to cars turnip which – if you've ever had turnip – is pretty damn hard! We didn't carve a pumpkin last year but I think I will do one this year. I also didn't get the opportunity to dress up last year either. My sister was over and she doesn't like dressing up so we just went out for a normal evening. This year we are going to spa hotel to celebrate my 30th birthday (months in advance) so there might be something suitable for the children and that would be fun. Normally however if I do dress up, I just wear a normal outfit and back comb my hair so it's huge and then draw eyeliner and make up all over my face!
