thenerdygirl: A white and tan barn owl peeking around a wall (Creep)

Today's feelings, summarized by a gif.

Ah, good old gifs. How else would I express my desire for murder and still have it be amusing & not taken seriously? Today has the potential to be a good day but my body and brain are having none of that. I went to go grab a coffee earlier, thinking it would help since coffee usually cheers me up, but the other customers in the coffee shop just brought out the hulk smash urge me. I was taken aback by how vicious I felt toward one person who got in my way but thankfully I would never ever EVER act on such a thought. It did make me realize that I need to avoid having too much face to face contact with people who annoy me today because I am just not in the right head space this morning. Thankfully my job allows for me to be quiet and keep to myself on days like this.

Sunday was good, although I would get these blue moments throughout the day. God, I just love biology and hormones *eye-roll*. John and I went to see Rear Window, which was being shown at the theater as part of the free classic movie series. It's funny, I've seen a lot of Hitchcock movies but I had never seen Rear Window but it's one of those movies that is so well known in popular culture that it feels like you've already seen it. Still, it was great to watch on the big screen.

After that, John went to visit his parents and I hung out at the apartment watching Disney's Atlantis on Netflix. It's one of the few Disney movies I had not seen so that was interesting but I didn't enjoy the animation as much as I have with other Disney movies. Interesting design but the movements seemed less fluid, more jerky. If that makes any sense.

When John got back we went to Canadian Tire and got into unintended mischief in the Halloween aisle. I accidentally set off a noise making Halloween decoration and couldn't figure out how to get it to stop screaming. We ended up walking away and hoping that would help but it kept screaming for a good five minutes after. All through out the store. I felt terrible but it was kind of funny. I would have bought it but I don't know how our landlords feel about Halloween decorating yet.

After we got back from Canadian Tire we watched Ex-machina, which was creepy, somber, and a good mix of scifi and modern that made it feel plausible which helped make it even more creepy. When the movie was over I went to check on my friend's cats while she out of town and then came back for a late dinner, before we just chilled and watched Rachel Ray's new kid cooking show which was dull. I know that the kids show judges are easier on the contestants compared to adult competition shows (duh, they're judging kids) but it felt like they were trying too hard to be nice and kept making the same generic pleasant comments about all the contestants food.

All in all, it was a pretty lazy Sunday. Hoping things perk up later today and that we make it to the gym. Hope everyone else is having a better Monday!

Haha! Great GIF! And I love the Hulk Smash reference too. I always say that, especially in regards to being hangry- "I'm about to turn into the Hulk, better eat something!" HAHA!

Hope the day improves for you, or at the very least that you can just lay low. Fucking hormones... BLAH!

Haha, I do that too when I get hangry.

Thanks :)

Ooh I really want to see Ex-machina! I'm glad to know you liked it. I have high hopes for it.

I hope you enjoy it when you get to see it!

i hate days where everything just sets you off! People are such idiots, especially where i live. lol

i'm thinking i need to see Ex-Machina. A lot of friends have had awesome things to say about it.

Those days are the worst, especially when it's stuff that would normally not bother me. Yeah, Ex-Machina is worth checking out. I wouldn't consider it scary but it is at times a bit unnerving.

That gif is excellent! I need to steal it for my collection!

I finally saw Rear Window a couple of years ago. I saw Disturbia and loved it, so I thought I'd see where the inspiration came from.

Go for it. I find that even though the New Girl can be a little annoying at times it is pretty quotable lol. I've never seen Disturbia, hmmmm...maybe I should add it to movies to check out in October.

I think Disturbia scares me so much because it is at least somewhat plausible. Also I'm a big chicken, to be honest.

I really loved Rear Window, and Ex Machina is really good.

I enjoyed them both, it was a good weekend for movies :)

Got to love Canadian Tire! I haven't been there in so long since I haven't been across the border in a few years but I still have some Canadian Tire money, haha.

I know! I always use to collect Canadian tire money when I was a kid so I buy a gift for dad at Christmas ...fake money that usually came from Dad's other purchases lol. I barely go there now so that tradition fell to the wayside but I still have a few bills kicking around.

Oh my gosh, Rear Window is fantastic. I saw it for the first time a couple of years ago, and just instantly fell in love with it. It's crafted so well!

Ooo I loved Ex Machina! I wasn't too happy with the ending. Why would she kill everyone and then leave and all that... I mean.. Okay.... But she would run out of power. She was also smarter than that. I also didn't buy the reasoning behind killing the guest guy? (Her creator, sure... I guess.)

The scenes were filmed so amazingly, and so chilling. The scene where the guest dude gets paranoid he is an android too? B R I L L I A N T. THE OST WAS GOOD TOO.

I feel like Jessica Day is every girl's spirit animal, haha.
