thenerdygirl: A gold pocket watch (Time)
I started thinking about social media this morning, namely, my own weird self-esteem/anxiety hang-ups about sharing my life & thoughts with others but also thinking about the frustrating lack of ethical options that also have my friends. Or just give me the opportunity to make friends.

Anyway, this led to research and browsing online until I saw an article mention dreamwidth and I was like ‘Oh yeah, I have a dreamwidth account. When’s the last time I signed into that?”

Apparently, last year.

And it seems like this is a yearly thing for me. I still keep a paper journal regularly but boy, just can’t seem to commit to being online and social, can I? Of course, given everything that happened in my life last year I have a good excuse, compared to past years. 2018 was the year of cancer with my mom suddenly going through the rigours of that wretched disease. 2019 is the first year without mom. It was a bit jarring to read my posts from last year, knowing what happened. Yet, oddly comforting? I don’t know if that’s the right word but there’s something positive in it.

I'm glad the site is still around. I'd love to say I'm going to give it another go with blogging but I've done that in the past and well...

I don't have the best track record. But hey, nothing wrong with hoping and trying to be optimistic, right?
