Happy Valentine's / Happy Sunday
Feb. 14th, 2021 03:28 pmHere's to the patron saint of beekeepers! Or one of them, rather. Seems the saints were just nuts about bees or people were just nuts about associating them with bees. There's St. Ambrose, St. Benedict, St. Gobnait/Abigail, St. Bartholomew, and St. Dominic. Probably more that I don't know about. While raised Catholic, I haven't really participated in the church in decades but I still find the saints fascinating.
Saints aside, it's been a nice Valentine's day so far. I made breakfast for J, the sun's splitting the rocks (NL speak for it's sunny), and it's been pretty chill. Also, I gotta say, one nice thing about growing older is I've noticed my friend's group is less angsty/negative about Valentine's Day. In my twenties, it was guaranteed to see quite a few snarky LJ posts, tweets or Facebook posts about the day but not so much throughout my thirties. Granted, people post less on social media and many of my friends are in steady relationships now but still, all my coupled & single friends are way more chill about it now. I'm chalking it up to maturity.
In other news, I'm debating backing a Kickstarter for a reprint of Good Society: A Jane Austen RPG. Well, really debating the amount tier. It's close to being backed and I'm eyeing the highest tier that includes the whole set but the inevitable question is: Do I really need this? The answer is no.
Do I feel like really want it? At the moment, yes but I'm also trying to be better at pausing and asking myself if it's something I truly want and will use. So it's been bookmarked so I can take a couple of days to decide. If a Regency based RPG is something you might be interested in, check it out here: LINK
Now I'm off to go for a walk with J to enjoy the nice weather.
